In the System Requirements area of Maian Weblog it states:

Maian Weblog does not support the PHP mail function.
A SMTP account must be available.

In the Changelog area of Maian Weblog under Latest Version - v5.3 - Coming Soon  . . .  Updated or Removed it states:

- Updated PHPMailer to latest stable release (6.2.0)
- Added support for PHP mail function

Question?

Is it true that v5.2 does not support the PHP mail function but v5.3 will ?
