In both tests on my PC's and Mac it shows as PDF also on mac I do not get that Apple software update info you are getting it shows your web address. Which leads me, as it is right now to think it's something specific to your device.

Note: PayPal will attempt the IPN call many times till it gets a confirmation from the script it will not usually just give up if your server or system has a hiccup or 2 during the payment process.

What do you mean by just showing in the url the file is coming from can you elaborate on that.? As Dave mentions the cart is sending the headers however some times I have seen problems in some browsers I am assuming you are using a Mac with FF v20+ correct? Can you email me a link on your site where I can test for this on my Mac.

Also Dave I should have a beta test setup by next week for the new version of the cart. I have downloaded it and will keep you in the loop.

You can try and go back to any of the links in your history after you close all you 15 windows :-) if you like.

Somthing is protecting your images from being shown, trust me on this.

If you try and access an image via the web browser it will fail, this is why you see no images on your site for the products.

Not another window please close the browser all windows completely or open another browser and paste the link and then try as if you were a new user. Should stop your access then. let me know if that works for you.

What I mean is you have a folder called products in this folder there are images however Apache is not granting web access so the images can't be shown. This is why I feel you have something up with permissions. Or or a hidden .htaccess file. I would look into that.

Thats on my server so no worry with email :-) If that works the way you hope maybe I can show that to Dave for Ideas on protecting the dl sec.

Hi have you protected the dir products in any way? because if you have, the Apache will not grant access to anything and that includes images.
Food for thought, as that is most likely your problem. you may want to check that. also I have seen others who had a hidden .htaccess
file that was causing all the problems.

Thats kinda what I do here try this might be able to do something like that. This is a free dl script I did that allows you to dl when you provide and email for doing so your gift is some tunes :-) You shouldn't be able to do it again without going through the whole process again.
I feel something based on that idea should work. I find IP based not always a great solution can be tricky not all IP's are static and for example AOL'ers are behind a proxy so its never the same IP in my tests.

If you try it, pretend you paid for it close the browser or open the link or any of the links in a new browser you should be denied.

Can you E-mail me the said link so I can see what you are saying. because it seems you say that the link is still valid even after the fact, I have not played with digital dl in Maian Cart but perhapses I may have some other ideas if I could test the exact link your saying works.
I know its not possible to make any dl 100% secure but we can make it a lot more difficult I think that is really the goal here.

If they paid for it then you allow them to dl it for a set time or amt I am not sure how they would be able to dl it separately as you are seem to be saying. Are you saying that protecting the dir does not work? Doing so should allow only script level access. Thus the link shouldn't work if someone tries to directly link to the file.

If this is a NIX box I you should be able to do something like a CHMOD 744 on the folder containing the files you don't want to allow any web lev pub accesses too, then only the php script will have access to the files. I have used this method, with scripts I wrote and it works quite well.

Mmm I hope we can figure it out my client likes the banners there so I have not disabled it but there is a glitch does the orig dev know about this what version do you have thats working correctly can we just swap out the one I have for the one that works.

Is it a simple change I was not sure how you set that up or I would just use my own rotation code can I simply use my own code.

I am also going to look into if the org dev knows of this problem. maybe he has a fix we are not aware of. let me know if you find a quick fix and if I can simply use my own code in its place was not sure if thats encoded or what. as I know you went encode hog wild :-), so I thought better ask Dave?

The built in banner slider seems to be not working as it should in some browsers.
I tested it in FF20 Mac and FF20 PC same odd problem, the banners stop in the middle so you see half a banner.

However on old version of FF PC it works as it should Ideas? I am loading 3 banners.

I looked over the lang templates and did not see where to edit this can you please let me know as i want to change that to something else if nothing was entered. My thought is its hidden an a lang template but il be damed I can find it.

Ok we figured this all out it was simple and I will post this here in case others may have the same problem and may even have the same reason for the error, the error in our case was because when we first set the cart up it was set up for testing in a dir that had no public access, because of this PayPal cant access the site or the IPN files. So it is possible some can have this same error if they have the store in a protected dir and forgot about it.

I hope that maybe this will help others to bug test their cart if they find a similar err.

What usually would cause this? Now mind you i have no digital dl's ...

I have to agree on that, as that makes sense that the error is causing the layout to go out of alignment.
It is not part of the layout so that makes sense.

I have told Marc to check his SMTP config or disable that so we can see what happens.

Hey man here's a section screen shot of the contact thanks page from the store im working on for my client. I submitted the form and this is what I get. I do not see the problem your are referring too so its odd to say the least, whats more is i have done extensive editing of the templates across the board and do not have that problem.

I know you mention the db but in my mind that shouldn't cause a layout problem, makes zero sense to me. I would love to know what the resolve is and how you fixed it when you do, so that if anyone may ever have that odd prob it can be fixed easily.

Update I just tested your store and it seems fine as far as the layout holding correct alignment, however I do see the err just peaking out from the nav bar "SMTP Error: Could not authenticate. SMTP Error: Could not authenticate."

Seems like you have something wrong in the configuration is my guess.

Dave correct on some but only the Help Tip Txt itself, not what I needed the labels are not in that file as one might think.
That is why I listed this as Help Tip Edit.

Ya I was in that file and did not see what I was looking for so I kept digging.

And hey I found what I was looking for, and it is not really part of the global lang file as it is listed in admin/templates/language/english/catalogue/product-add.php

So anyone that may want to edit the labels such as Offer Price: in the admin and the like that is the file or files you should seek as you must go into and edit that file to make changes to any of the labels.

Hope that may help some others that just might have wondered where and what template that was buried.

I would think you might be able to edit what it says in the lang templates, did you check?
As I have found most text is found in those templates.

I am sure Dave will answer this for sure, but I think he may be a bit busy as I do see he has not answered some questions just yet.

Dave Is this still a problem? Would I need to replace this file on my clients cart as well? Sounds like an odd bug to say the least.
