Hi,
I have set up my email settings exactly as they are set up in my email client, yet no emails are being sent out, not even the test emails.
I have set account, server, port (465) password and security SSL, all as they appear in my email client, but no reaction at all from the emails.

I'm afraid I'll have to cross-post as I have exactly the same problem with another script.
The logfile gives me this:

I don't see where github and wiki come into it, as I use Gmail.
Adjustment: I just read in the help file about not using your Gmail password, but I have not found any Google app so far which lets me use its password for logging into my Gmail server on Maian Weblog.
I will definitely nee help on that.

It's no use.
I have 2-step auth. enabled, I have a working app specific password, which I also use for the script, my imap settings are all correct, I have tried SSL on port 465, and TLS on port 587, all to no avail.
The test email never arrives.

Phew,
this has been cleared up.
It is best not to use a Gmail address or a domain whose email is sent through Gmail or there will be endless trouble.
I had to resort to using a different email address, without using an app-related password and now everything works good as gold.

Now (at the risk of going off-topic) I would like to make a suggestion: it would be good if Maian Weblog offered a possibility to upload videos without going through Youtube or Vimeo or whatever (maybe by using good old HTML5 or something).

The reason I am requesting such a feature is because the aforementioned services sometimes have their own glitches, and it is sometimes easier to upload a video from your own machine and display it by means of some code and be free of any ads and other previews and that that pop up after your own video.

Maybe worth thinking about.

Good you are considering it.
But I didn't mean anything about upload time or whatever, I just meant that places like Youtube and Vimeo have their own issues (eg. adverts, showing previews of other viseos etc.) which you can avoid with just a plain video of your own.
About the size of the videos, it is a good idea to use a video compressor and to watch what format you use.
