We are pleased to announce the release of Maian Journal (formerly Maian Weblog) v6.0. Please take note of the following:

- Maian Journal releases from now will require a min PHP version of 8 to run. Older versions are no longer supported.

- Maian Journal now uses the Latte template engine. The older Savant template engine, which we have used for years, has now been removed as it is way out of date and no longer updated. We felt now was a good time to go with something more modern and secure. Unfortunately, due to the different syntax, previous themes will not be compatible with Latte. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

- If you purchased a commercial licence for Maian Weblog, this is still valid but you will need to re-download the licence via your account area @ Maian Media.

- If this software had a database backup cron previously, it will no longer run, you should automate database backups at the server level, via a tool like RSync.
